We share stories of failure. This is Fuckup Nights

When someone hears  the name Fuckup Nights, we’re well aware that all sorts of other things come to mind. And no, we’re not in the business of certain after dark activities, or, shall we say, things of a more adult nature.

So then, what is Fuckup Nights?

We are a global movement and event series which shares stories of professional failure. Starting as a small event in Mexico City in 2012, we’re now in more than 300 cities across the globe.

And all because five friends got together one Friday night over some mezcales and wondered why we always only talk about success.

Now that you know the basics, we can get into the grisly details *hand rubbing*…

Each month, in events across the globe, we get three to four people to get up in front of a room full of strangers to share their own story of failure. Each story has to be told in 7 minutes and 10 images. After that, there’s a Q&A session with each speaker and finally, a “networking” session, along with beer and (if you’re in Mexico) mezcal.

So, now you may be wondering, why do you share stories of failure?

Because we love to live life without filters, even if that means  having difficult conversations. We believe that the stigma surrounding failure is more harmful than failure itself – and that’s why we strive for open spaces to share, defeat our ego, and allow ourselves to be  authentic and vulnerable.

We think the best part of our movement is that everyone is welcome. Failure doesn’t discriminate, and neither do we – so check out our events page and come join us.

But wait, what if Fuckup Nights is not available in my city?

Well, click here to find out if your city is available and, if it is, become a local Fuckup Nights organizer!

So, now you know! So the next time you’re asked “What is Fuckup Nights?” you know what to say: “They share stories of failure” 😉
